POSITION PURPOSE
The Oil Disposal Technician is responsible for burning the waste oil that has been collected and stored at Nelson Lagoon Storage.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Use an Oil Away Attachment to inject waste oil into a 55-gallon cyclonic barrel.
Load a 55-gallon barrel, open head steel drum, light the load, and clamp on the lid.
Stay on premises to always monitor the burning of oil.
Performs cleanup on spilled materials and/or contaminates.
Completes inspection of equipment prior to each load.
Keeps supervisor informed of issues related to equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job typically operates in a remote outdoor environment.
While working outdoors, worksite may be cold, wet, and damp conditions for prolonged periods of time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; climb stairs; use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
40-hour HAZWOPER certification or become certified in all areas prior to working.

Competent to operate disposal equipment.
