Please be advised that Six Mile - Nika JV and its subcontractors are rejecting the collective bargaining agreement between the predecessor contractor and Teamsters Local 959.
Accordingly, employment with members of the Six Mile - Nika JV or its subcontractors under its contract for Base Operation Support Services at the United States Coast Guard Base in Kodiak will not be subject to the terms and conditions of employees' previous collective bargaining agreement with Choctaw Defense Services.
Employment with members of the Six Mile-Nika JV or its subcontractors under the Base Operation Support Services Contract at the United States Coast Guard Base in Kodiak will be subject to new terms and conditions of employment, subject to certain requirements under Section 4(c) the Service Contract Act or as otherwise required by applicable law.
JOB OVERVIEW
Six Mile, LLC (SML) is seeking a Locksmith to provide support to a base operations support services contract in Kodiak, AK!
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Installs locking system (e.
g.
doors, door hardware, closures, panic hardware, changes lock combinations, security bolts, etc.
) for the purpose of maintaining facilities in a safe, comfortable, and operating condition.
Cuts new or duplicate keys for the purpose of providing the county with a master key system and ensuring the security of its facilities.
Repairs various items, systems, and/or components for the purpose of ensuring the items are available and in safe working condition.
Inspects facilities, systems, and their components for the purpose of ensuring safety identifying necessary repairs, and providing an ongoing program of preventive maintenance.
Fabricates unique locks and locking devices for the purpose of meeting the specialized security problems within the district.
Diagnoses malfunctions of security systems for the purpose of identifying repair/replacement needs necessary to maintain systems.
Performs minor repairs or modifications to door and/or frame for the purpose of ensuring proper closing and security.
Re-keys locks and changes combinations for the purpose of ensuring the security of facilities.
Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
Maintains tools and/or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition.
Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items.
Assists other trades personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Performs other related work as required.
ABOUT YOU
Graduation from high school, preferably supplemented by vocational training in locksmith, plumbing, and utility work, and some experience in water utility maintenance; or any equivalent training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Minimum 1 year of experience as a locksmith on a multiunit installation
