North Wind Site Services is focused on providing engineering, program management, environmental remediation services including investigation and characterization, environmental restoration, unexploded ordnance/military munitions response (MMRP), regulatory public involvement services, environmental compliance, logistics, and records and facility management.
POSITION PURPOSE: This is General Construction Laborer role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Builds and performs various physical labor duties on commercial construction projects.
Transfer from one task to another as directed.
Uses tools and equipment such as hand tools, handheld power tools, and small-mechanized equipment to provide labor support on various construction projects.
Perform cleaning and activities.
Performing all duties in accordance with project policies and procedures and complying with all federal, state, and local regulations for secure and safe operation.
Conducting a thorough inspection of the tools and equipment assigned.
Safely operating tools and equipment in different configurations as assigned.
Perform selective demolition.
Site clean-up.
Material handling and furniture relocation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Three to seven years' experience in the construction industry.
High School diploma or GED Equivalent Skills and Abilities: A clear understanding of the construction process; pride in workmanship and attention to detail.
Knowledge of OSHA safety/code requirements.
Special Requirements: Must have reliable transportation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Strong communications skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Medium physical workload.
Employee must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Required close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
Also required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
Specific physical requirements include but are not limited to, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, talking hearing, and performing repetitive motions.
Maintain equilibrium to prevent falling when moving, walking, standing, kneeling, or crouching – particularly on narrow, uneven, irregular, slippery surfaces, going up or down ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, or other objects using hands, arms, feet, or legs.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work will be a mix of indoor (demolition, furniture relocation, site clean-up, etc.
) and outdoor (material handling, site clean-up, etc.
).
Exposure to noise levels is highly likely.
