This position is responsible for the operation of the surimi line and monitoring the decanter moisture.

Leads the surimi production process from raw materials to finished products.
Monitors and maintains production parameters to achieve optimal product quality.
Independently operates and troubleshoots processing machinery for surimi production.
Trains and guides entry-level technicians on standard operating procedures and best practices.
Processes and analyzes shift reports relevant to surimi production.
Participates in the development and improvement of processing methods and procedures.
Tracks/records the ingredients such as sugar and cryo for packaging (the amount of plastic used throughout the day).
Performs inventory management and ordering of raw materials such as cryo, sugar & packaging.
Collaborates with the Quality Control team to conduct thorough inspections and data analysis.
Performs quality control checks on the surimi product during production.
Supervises employees during clean ups to make sure they clean up according to procedures, ensuring SOPs are followed safely and properly.
Clean and maintain equipment and work areas to meet hygiene standards.
Handle chemicals in accordance with proper safety clean up procedures during clean ups.
Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
Coordinates with Fabricator, Supervisor for modification of machines, equipment to improve its functionality.
Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety training.
Minimum Requirements Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs) Must have previously worked in the Surimi Department in Akutan High school diploma or equivalent Six (6) years’ experience Knowledge of repairing and rebuilding machinery within surimi operation such as pumps, gear boxes, etc.
Preferred education and experience Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
Additional eligibility requirements (language skills, training, certifications, DL, licensing): Familiarity with the surimi production process, including the principles of fish deboning, washing, grinding, and forming surimi paste.
Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices to ensure the production of safe and high-quality surimi products.
The ability to conduct precise measurements, perform quality control checks, and follow strict procedures to maintain product consistency and quality.
Work environment (includes travel/on-call): While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Physical demands: Surimi staff may be required to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy loads and working in cold environments.
The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
