Homer, AK Full Time Work Hours: 8 hours per day 3/25/2024 This Facilities Engineer 1 / Equipment Operator position is located in our Plant Operations Department.
Hours: This is a full-time benefited position, 40 hours per week.
Working hours are typically 8am to 4pm but may fluctuate, depending on various situations and work load or snow load.
This position is routinely scheduled for after hours on-call duty and may be called to work at any hour of the day or night, in order to maintain a safe environment.
Starting Salary: $26.
88 - 38.

) What you'll do: Work as a member of the Engineering team who is responsible for the operation, maintenance and preventive maintenance of the mechanical equipment associated with the physical plant such as heavy equipment (including but not limited to loaders, dozers, excavators, skid steers, lawn mowers, weed trimmers, etc.
), generators, compressors, pumps, fan systems, pneumatic and electrical control systems.
Be responsible for the repair and maintenance of office equipment, housekeeping, laundry, dietary equipment, and some snow and lawn care equipment.
Be responsible for repair and maintenance of the campus buildings, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.
Tasks may include work in plumbing, painting, electrical work, refrigeration, pneumatics, hydraulics, heating, ventilation systems, snow removal, running heaving equipment, and a broad-spectrum of maintenance duties to meet the needs of the facility.
What you'll need: Be at least eighteen (18) years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
Have two (2) years hospital maintenance experience, or three (3) years maintenance experience in a related field, or a vocational maintenance degree in one of the following disciplines: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm systems or electronics.
Have an Alaska driver license and/or CDL.
Be able to read, write and understand English; and follow verbal and written instructions.
Be able to pass a Job Function Test in our Rehab Department, and meet the physical demands of the job.
Have basic knowledge and skill of construction prints, electronics, electrical circuits, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, carpentry, communication systems, heavy equipment operating time, and good troubleshooting skills.
Have knowledge in the care and use of a variety of hand and power tools.
Have basic computer skills.
Have good communication and listening skills.
Have good organizational and decision-making skills with the ability to set appropriate priorities Be able to perform work with attention to detail, be flexible in work assignment be able to work competently in stressful situations.
