The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for a Maintenance Specialist - Electronics - Journey 2/Lead position for the Spring Creek Correctional Center (SCCC) located in Seward, Alaska.
Watch Alaska DOC's video here: Facilities 30 Second CutWhat you will be doing: Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all electronic systems in the Spring Creek Correctional Center.
These include but are not limited to; perimeter security systems, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) camera systems, electronic doors and locks, fire protection systems, telephone and telephone voice mail systems, Intercom systems, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, and computer networking wiring systems.

The working environment you can expect: Spring Creek Correctional Center is a maximum-security state operated adult correctional institution.
The institution has a capacity of over 500 male inmates and employs approximately 200 staff.
While much of Spring Creek's inmate population serve long term sentences, we also house prisoners serving shorter sentences.
Who we are looking for: This position has the following key knowledge/responsibilities/requirements: Knowledge of and the ability to perform fundamental maintenance and repair for a variety of trades and crafts work involving segments of integrating into the whole;Knowledge of work practices, methods and processes, and their levels of difficulty in to or more trades and crafts;Knowledge of codes, specifications, standards, regulations and trade manuals;Knowledge of Installing, troubleshoot, maintaining, and repair all electronic systems in the Spring Creek Correctional Center;Knowledge of and skill to interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications and schematics.
