Job Title: IT Director Department: Administrative Supervisor: President/CEO Supervises: IT Assistant Location: Homer FLSA Status: Exempt Classification: Full-Time Position Overview Serve as the SVT technology leader and administrator and also act as the health information technology lead for SVT Health & Wellness.
Duties and Responsibilities Conduct technical research on new IT systems and components to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system.
Collaborate with Quality Improvement/ Clinical Data Specialist.
Install, upgrade, and configure network printing, directory structures, user access, security, software, and file services.
Establish user profiles, user environments, directories, and security for networks being installed.
Work with vendors and ANTHC to resolve complex network problems.
Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
Ensure system wide security to meet requirements for protected health information in compliance with HIPAA.
Work as a team member with other technical staff or IT Contractors to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems.
Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
Train and assist SVT Health & Wellness staff in use of IT equipment and serve as tier III support for IT Equipment.
Coordinate with SVT Management Team, Department Supervisors and Unit Managers to develop IT Policies and Procedures.
Manage VOIP phone system.
Develop and maintain phone and data access lines.
Coordinate USAC.
Work with CEO and SVTHW Director to set up and maintain equipment replacement schedules.
Ensure data for internal and external reporting needs can be produced in a timely and accurate manner.
Establish and maintain solid work relationships through communication, cooperation, and positive interaction with all employees.
Protect the security of all patient medical/dental records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained following HIPAA and PPI regulations as outlined in SVTHW policy and procedures.
Create and maintain a continuation of business plan that provides for a data and system restoration and function is case of natural disaster, facilities damage or loss of personnel (IT staff).
Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Associate’s Degree or 2-year technical school in related field, Required or work experience equivalent 3+ Years related experience, required.
Knowledge of company supported network platforms, Firewall and IDS/IPS management, Experience with IPV4 and IPV6 routing in multi-WAN environments, Microsoft Server and Active Directory administration and Apple OSX integration.
Ability to determine computer problems and coordinate hardware and/or software solutions.
Must have a demonstrated understanding of basic networking principles, Microsoft Server administration, and MS SQL database administration and Exchange server administration.
Advanced skills in desktop OS systems (Apple OSX, Windows 10) and software (MS Office).
Understanding of VOIP PBX systems and phone system management.
Preferred Qualifications Ability to analyze, test, document, and modify desktop and network infrastructure that includes networked computers (Microsoft PC, Mac OSX, and Linux OS), Microsoft Server technology, Hyper-V hosting, and MS SQL database servers.
Must be able to install, wire, trouble-shoot local and networked systems and interfacing including multi-WAN routing and firewall management, intrusion detection and monitoring, and VPN configuration.
Must be able to perform and document annual security audits (SRA) to comply with CMS Meaningful Use, MIPS and other federal healthcare programs.
Knowledge of applicable Local, State, and Federal regulations Experience and ability to service and manage VIOP based PBX systems and peripherals.
Understand the issues involved in administering and maintaining a secure computing environment that complies with HIPAA and HITECH standards and requirements.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to produce tutorials and documentation of business systems.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work independently and efficiently under stressful conditions, make solid decisions, and exercise independent judgment.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet timelines.
Ability to interpret policies and procedures.
Ability to analyze situations, define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and adopt appropriate courses of action.
Travel Requirements Regular travel to Seldovia at least 30% of the time.
Travel to be conducted mostly as day-trips, but is subject to inclement weather.
Travel will be by boat or plane.

Work is generally conducted in a typical office technical environment.

SVTHW positions: An individual in this position may be exposed to communicable diseases or hazards common to a healthcare setting, including but not limited to needle stick wounds, chemicals, and tuberculosis.
